Manipulation in social media betting is any attempt by a creator or user to influence the outcome of a bet. In traditional betting markets, there are 2 primary types of manipulation:

  1. Market Manipulation - When a non-subject participant (social media user) intentionally attempts to alter a line or metric that determines an event contract. User-driven markets are at risk to this type of manipulation.

  2. Match Fixing - When a subject participant (social media creator) intentionally attempts to alter a line or metric that determines an event contract. Creator-controlled markets are at risk to this type of manipulation.
